Testo Paging Alan Friedman

Paging Alan Friedman, phone call on line two
There's a custom who's angry, wants to talk to you
He shuffles through his papers, and starts off with hello
Takes a look at his screensaver, of the Monterey Coast

And he says:

A couple years to go and I'll have nothing but time
At least I got the weekends and the 4th of July
Well isn't that the way it goes when you're a company guy?
Make a living on the company dime

He guides the conversation, with the script he memorized
The same words that he said bеfore his kids were alivе
His daughter lives in Boston, her youngest just turned nine
He's gonna get to know them, when he finally retires

And he says:

A couple years to go and I'll have nothing but time
At least I got the weekends and the 4th of July
Well isn't that the way it goes when you're a company guy?
Make a living on the company dime
(doo doo doo)
(doo doo doo)
(doo doo doo doo)
(doo doo doo doo)
Paging Alan Friedman
Paging Alan Friedman

On the other side in Dallas, I'm stuck on the phone
I'm listening to Alan, wishing I was home
As I loadout of the venue, my family's fast asleep
Trying to be there for them, keeps making me leave

And I say

A couple years to go and then I won't have to grind
'Cuz if I want my freedom, gotta put in the time
Well isn't that the way it goes when you're a company guy?
Am I gonna work myself to death just to *die*?

Am I gonna work myself to death just to die . . . ?
