I see the casualties of affluence, the rape of innocence and my heart is bleeding
but compassion won't nurture the poor intentions won't rid us of war

with too much cruelty to comprehend I want to close my eyes, pretend that I'm leaving
to a place without famine and greed where everyone has what they need to get by

Utopia, a paradise in harmony
utopia, my paradise, will never be
am I naive to think that we could be more than rotting flowers on the grave of equity
more than a fading scar on dying tissue
more than a stick of dynamite without a fuse
