Testo Change (Lonely Places)

Testo Change (Lonely Places)

Every morning I look in the mirror
And I see a face I’ve never seen
There are times when I will see this face
And I will think, “Oh, how could this be me?”

‘Cause there’s a certain home I feel in things like me
But it’s hard to find a homely place to be
So I spend my time in lonely places just hoping that I will belong
But the people all around are not like me

In these times of change I look to where I’ve been
And see the things that I’ve outgrown
Then I turn ahead to see where I’ve been led
And carve a space to call my own

‘Cause there’s a certain home I feel in things like me
But it’s hard to find a homely place to be
So I spend my time in lonely places just hoping that I will belong
But the people all around are not like me

I feel in between, it's hard to navigate this
Space that's foreign to my eyes
But I find, oh, if I open up that in this
Place it's easier to grow
