i'm staring at parking lot lights and i'm wide awake
thinking of all the mistakes i made
surrounded by friends, and i've never felt so alone
and if you asked me a year ago, i couldn't see myself on this road
but now the street signs and yellow lines are burned into my mind
thank you my friend for taking me back to where i should have been all along
and all those nights i spent alone should've been spent with you
all the state lines and the awkward fights weren't enough for me to shut up and leave but as your future replaced me for the city i woke up from our dream
