Where stands benevolence
When malevolence
Stares us right in the eye?

Mistaken Splendor
Cusps the bounds
Of genocide
Holding on
Dragging humanity
Along the road
Into perdition
While peeled fingers
Reach back to Sodom.

Scales balances
By the blood
Of conflict
Is grasped
By those who
Are crushed
Under its weight
