Testo The Strap
Testo The Strap
all that i took from the house i was born in
was the old leather strap that my father had worn in
so the leather was soft and the stitching was torn and all shot to hell
but all that i wanted was that old leather belt
now i could have taken the keys to his car
or the money he'd saved in that old mason jar
i sure could have used a few credit cards
or some jewelry to sell
but all that i wanted was that old leather belt
i still remember only to well
me and brothers as kids raisin' hell
how we knew we were in trouble
when dad undid the buckle
of that old leather belt
all that i took from the house i was born in...
now what will you do you tired old man
will you try to strike me? well i don't think you can
'cause i'm wearing the belt you once raised in your hand
and i'll never forget how it felt
as long as I'm wearing this old leather belt
all that i took from the house i was born in...
