Testo Fire Dancer

Testo Fire Dancer

I thought I was a traveler
I was only a little unspooled
I'd come back home and watch the world
Perched upon a wooden stool
Couldn't make it as a dreamer
So I scorched the earth of my own farm
I was waiting for a reason to drop in
And sound the alarm

I read tomes of ancient secrets
That seemed to sparkle on the page
Illuminating insight
All but forgotten in a day
And I looked around and all I saw
Was all I thought there was to see
Like I was given to my choices
Like they weren't given to me

Fire dancer
Whеre did you come from?
And wherе is it that you go
When the mornin' comes?
There were nights with wiser spirits
Spent gathered around the fire
Searchin' for some meanin'
Finding comfort in desire
You can give yourself to singin'
At the expense of the song
And now when I go home
I never stay too long

Fire dancer
Where did you come from?
And where is it that you go
When the mornin' comes?
