Testo Grief

I used to love these hours
I’d rouse on you when the sound was turned up way too loud
Pour you another cup
Swat you away when you’d get that look
I held your weakened hand
Tried not to cry with your raging pain
You were my guiding light
Sat wide awake every tear stained night.

When did the paint on these walls start peeling?
Now I’m noticing the mouldy ceiling
These tyres are bald and I haven’t checked the oil
I went for space, now there’s no-one calling
Right when I’m feeling myself falling
Which of our friends were yours and which were mine?
Nothing feels worth my time, everyone’s gonna die anyway

I used to feel alright
I never did fail to catch your eye
Lately I don’t see that girl
Just a worn out face up against the world

When did the paint on these walls start peeling?
Now I’m noticing the mouldy ceiling
These tyres are bald and I haven’t checked the oil
I went for space, now there’s no-one calling
Right when I’m feeling myself falling
Which of our friends were yours and which were mine?
Nothing feels worth my time, everyone’s gonna die anyway

I used to feel alright
We used to love these hours
I held your weakened hand
I gave away your things
Everyone’s gonna die
We’re all gonna die some day
