Sometimes I hear people saying they want to change the future.
But they don't seem to know the past.
Sometimes I see people trying to change others, trying change the world.
But they didn't seem to know who they are themselves.

Some people say that the past is gone and irrelevant.
I don't believe in that.
I don't believe that we have to cling to the past.
It clings to us.
I don't believe that anything just disappears without a trace.
Everything that is, sprang from what was.

Forgotten are the words that once have been told.
Buried in oblivion the songs that once rang out.
They're veiled, but not gone.
They're just veiled, pupated, like the larva in its cocoon.

I know that now.

I know where I come from.
I know who I am.
