Testo Babies' Eyes

autumn falls
everyone draws in and
twilight calls
and something feels so cold

it's not the freezing wind of winter
being near
it's just the fading into grey of another year

and i'm walking down this shopping street
through families in the rain
and looking into babies' eyes again
