falling leaves will shame the trees
and branches bare, will feel your stare
and wonder why the loving leaves fell down
and wonder when they're coming back to town

cars will obsolete my sweating feet
and socks will love the shoes they meet
summer will take all our socks off and shoes will pretend that they don't care
secretly they'll be heart-broken

every word it seems absurd
