This morning I woke
Lashes long as the rushes
Wipe the sweat from my brow
Let the tap run dry
It's a hard knock life
Without the pushin’-shovin'
Do I mosey on by
With the sleep in my eyes
Oh call my name
Let no stranger judge
Know my place in this world
And it's a short ride
I treat each face
As they come before me
Heard ignorance was evil
And Socrates smiled

I spent all day in the
Public library
Hoping to be seen
By some passer-by
With an ancient recount Of the guns and thе glory
Democracy saved
And my head hеld high

I watch and I wonder
Would the world equate
If we all sat a while
