Are dripping from the ceiling and waking from their sleep
I'm just like a child pressing bruises on his knee

I'm sobered by the silence and defeated by the clocks Investing time in poetry and rejoicing in the dark
I'm reveling in bleeding cos' blood's the substance of our hearts
You know by our design we're meant to hurt
We've got to hurt
Let's make it worse

You want to aim for happiness but humanity is flawed
Every story has a twist and it's the twist we do applaud
You want to see tranquility but you must first see out the storm
And all I want to do is keep you warm
