Testo From Seven To Three

Testo From Seven To Three

From seven to three we looked and stared
at what our hearts once held quite near

the smell of bark and leaves filled our lungs
with the feeling we know and utterly fear

yesterday, last week, and years come to pass
it stood there, tall, strong, and firm
its changing colors for the changing of seasons
red, yellow, orange, and auburn

under its billowing branches we spent many a day
bathed in shade from the never ending heat
and year after year we climbed up to see
the horizon, blank fields, and the one lonely street

a fire set ablaze by the words we all say
a splitting apart of our love like cloth
and stripped to the last thread, the dead amity
the flames spread to the trunk of tree

gleeful years spent, and feelings have changed
from the minute it started till the end of our day
and at this climax the flames grow higher

the once graceful maple, such a pity
theres nothing but an enormous flame
where the tree once stood, and offered us peace
this long-gone friendship that was once so close
has perished entirely, and now is deceased

a fire set ablaze by the words we all say
a splitting apart of our love like cloth
and stripped to the last thread, the dead amity
the flames spread to the trunk of tree

under its billowing branches we spent many a day
bathed in shade from the never ending heat
and year after year we climbed up to see
the horizon, blank fields, and the one lonely street
