Testo Old Lake Road

he stepped out of the train in a southwind town he smelled the air of the harbour felt streets of warm stone took a motel room some money and time and where jesus is still savin´ he stood for a while he was tired of all the living inside these lies he saw the sinking rivers the shining bay lights all these fights and all of these fears he held it all in his hands maybe he could leave it here he went fishin´ with strangers he sat on a reef he saw the ruins of castles and sailed on deep seas in the valley of pines he talked to the trees but did he find what he looked for this energy (he said: no, no, no) ´cause i was doin´ all the time what my mind has told me to neglected all the feelings though my heart has told the truth it seems we´re looking for a sign until the end ´til time goes by were the earth and stars collide the desert grows now we´re looking for a change when true belief guides everything there´s a river were the stony desert grows beyond the old lake road there in the heat of the desert with trembling hands and with the tongue of a dog he tasted glowing sand he said: baby could you believe me could you receive me and baby could you heal? back in these times and in this place i can never ever escape your face come receive my tears from miles around flowin´ like an uphill river to the town where i´ll be looking for a sign...
