Testo I Could Get Up

So much to do and yet I cannot touch a thing so
nothing's done, the list goes on,
I had a date today but I cancelled it again
Cause nothing's done, I've none to show?

I could get up
I could go out
And see the sky Or dance about
I could make plans to see my brother
Or the bottom of the sink
Or I could stay in bed all day.

Most of what I've thought today is on the bedroom floor
and it's a sticky situation
I haven't eaten yet, cause then i'd have to clean the plate
But I'm not even clean myself so why the dish?

I could get up
I could go out
And get the things that i'm without
I should have called my mother
But she's probably gone by now so I will just stay in my bed

There's got to be 13 hours til tomorrow
If I don't leave I'll end up with an achin head.

I should make amends with all my fleeting friends
But it's not 9, and it's not free

I could get up
I could go out
And see the sky
Or dance about,
I must say thank you to my father
For the things he does for me
But as for now I'll stay in bed
Yes I'll be in my bed
